Self taught artist and businessman, Chris Larson focuses his art on expressing social issues surrounding the LGBTQI community. He prides himself in being an artist not having a background in art, which influences his abilities/inabilities and direction, in a nontraditional way. He finds inspiration from the artists he collaborates with, and other ideas from artists he loves, and combines them into a puzzle in his mind. His art always reflects personal experience about something he needs to say.
Brooklyn-based Chris Larson goes with the state of flow, not against it, often changing his mind throughout the process depending on the input from his collaborators. Chris started by finger painting on an iPad and printing on different materials - papers, fabrics, light boxes, wood. He cites the tactical experience of finger painting and the childlike nature that brings him back to an essence of simplicity.
Recently, Chris has begun to explore new mediums of producing art through drawing and mixed mediums throughout the COVID19 lockdown. His materials of choice at the moment are color pencil, oil pastels, and paints.
Chris also has expanded his digital work and has begun to create NFTs on the Foundation Blockchain.
